Toilets and Bathrooms

·         The bathroom should ideally be located in the East. Alternatively, it can be located in the North-West. It should never be located in the North East

·         Toilets are permissible only in West, and South and South-East direction but not in the North-East corner

·         Toilets should never be located in any of the four corners or the lines connecting the corners as it leads to illnesses, cancers and depression

·         Toilets in the center of the house are considered a Vastu ‘Maha-dosha’, absolutely not permissible as it leads to constant sickness and terminal illness in the house

·         Washbasin/sinks etc. should be mounted on the north, east or northeast wall of the bathroom

·         There must be a provision for proper lighting and cross ventilation. Install an exhaust fan in all toilets

·         The geyser should be placed in the Southeast corner

·         The drainage system should be in the north or east direction

·         The taps and showers should be fixed on the northern side. A bathtub can be placed on the west, east or northeast with the head facing the south side.

·         North-west is ideally considered for the placement of the toilet while attached toilet with a bathroom must also be in this direction only. Fix an exhaust fan.

·         If there is an attached toilet in the bedroom, always install an automatic door closer to ensure that the bathroom door never unnecessarily remains open for a long time

·         Toilets should not be made in the Northeast corner. It is a severe vaastu offence; it brings disastrous health issues, accidents, problems in progeny and also brings unnecessary expenses

·         Toilets in the southwest are not good as it causes financial issues, losses, and unnecessary expenses

·         Toilets should always face the North or East and never be South or West
·         The toilet should never come in front of the bathroom door

·         The toilet should not be made under the stairs. In the same way, as the toilet is not at all good in the centre area of the building structure.


·         The toilet should not be made near or above the puja room or kitchen. Only a toilet is permissible above another toilet

Family Sitting Room

·         The best location for a Living Room is in the North, North-East, North-West and East directions

·         The head of the family, in the living area, should sit facing East or North so that he/she remains in command

·         Keep square or rectangular furniture in living area and avoid circular, oval or any other shapes of furniture

·         Keep a North-East corner of living area clean and free of clutter

·         Never keep artificial flowers, dried flowers (they attract misfortune), cactus/cacti or bonsai plants (have a negative influence on finance and career) as they are inauspicious

·         Never hang a chandelier in the center of the living room as it brings tensions and misunderstandings

·         It is a good place to keep fish aquariums or small fountains especially in the North-East, North or East of the living room

·         Exposed beams in the living room cause discord, friction and differences of opinion among the family members or the guests


·         Portraits of birds, animals, women, weeping children, scenes from wars etc. should not be displayed in this room

Pooja (Worship/Prayer) Room

·         The Pooja Room has to face the east or North-East direction

·         In a place of worship in the house, it is necessary to have an open atmosphere

·         Take care that there are enough light and air

·         Latrine/Toilets should not be near and shouldn’t share a common wall with the worship room

·         Keep it clean and always light incense sticks

·         Keeping an ‘Akhand’ Diya ( a lamp that is always and continuously burning) gives you infinite energy to overcome all obstacles in life

·         If a lamp is placed in the Pooja room, it should always be in front of the god

·         The lamp-stand or up lighter can be in the south-east corner of the prayer room

·         The doors of the prayer room should not close or open automatically

·         Idols should not be kept facing each other. Broken idols and torn pictures should not be kept in the prayer room

·         There should be a clear demarcation of the Pooja room and it should not be used for any other purpose


·         Pooja room should not be directly under the stairs

Master Bedroom
·         To have stability in life, the best and only direction for the Master Bedroom. 
·         But, master bedroom in South-West is only for couples who have established their family, not for newlyweds. 
·         All master bedrooms must be in the South-West and if there are 2 couples living in the same house, the one who controls the house more should have a bedroom above the other couple’s. 
·         In a Master bedroom, be sure to use only a single bed (of course it can be King-size or larger if you please!), single mattress and a single bed sheet, or else it affects couple’s harmony and chances of having children. 
·         While sleeping, make sure that everyone sleeps with his or her head pointing towards the South. 
·         Avoid placing the pictures and idols of gods and goddesses in the bedroom. 
·         Square and rectangle shaped beds and bedrooms are just perfect for ensuring peace and prosperity. 
·         Always keep a small light burning in the Master bedroom at night. Never keep a Red coloured night light, but green or blue is preferred. 
·         Never keep things like fountains and aquariums in the Master bedroom. Water is an unstable element and it creates instability in life when placed in the bedroom. 
·         Never use mirrors or reflective surfaces like a TV screen in the Master Bedroom, especially those that reflect your shadow as it causes body pains and illness. If you do have, then make sure you to cover them before going to bed. 
·         Keep your Master Bedroom clutter-free and keep bare minimum decorative objects. 
·         The Master bedroom should have windows in such a direction that wind blows from South to West. 
·         A beam should never cross over the bed, it causes serious health problems. 
·         Your bed should never face any door, be it the entrance to your room or that of the toilet. 
·         A Master Bedroom in South-East is bound to cause heated arguments between couples. 
·         A Master Bedroom in North-East causes mental weakness. 
·         A Master Bedroom in East causes arguments, ill-health and fluctuating moods. 
·         A Master Bedroom in North-West causes unnecessary travels and quarrels. 

·         Do not keep pictures or statues in the Master bedroom that is violent, amorous, scary and have wild animals.

·         When constructing the dining room, use the east, west or south portion of the house

·         The dining table should be arranged in such a way that the head of the house or his wife
or his eldest son is able to sit in the south of south-west or west of south-west chair in the room

·         Do not make any arches in the dining room


·         It is preferable to have a rectangular or square dining table. Do not use tables that are of irregular shape, octagonal shape, an oval shape or egg-shaped

South-West

·         Ideal place for all Master Bedrooms, Wardrobes, Dressing Rooms, Overhead tank, Staircase, Libraries and Bookshelves

·         In offices, it is a good place for Chairman’s cabin, Managing Director, Senior Managers, Store Rooms, Heavy items and machines, leather work, Raw Material store and Outside Store

·         Avoid keeping this space light and empty. It is a  ‘No-No’ for Cellars, Basements, Wells, Toilets and Servant’s room

·         Has maximum energy between 3 pm to 6 pm

·         Very useful as a healing room for people who work in dispelling Fear and Phobias and with Ancestral energies

·         Any problem in this space can cause health problems like Accidents (repeatedly), Leg pains and Fractures, Kidney Stones and other kidney problems, Unstable sugar levels or blood pressure


·         A weak South-West can lead to Blockage in money flow, Draining finances, Inability to repay loans, Instability in life and trouble to the wife or lady of the house

Kitchen
• The ideal place for the kitchen is the southeast corner. An alternative choice can be the northwest corner of the house.

• The cooking gas or stove should be placed towards the South-East direction but not in the corner. The person who is cooks should face towards the east only, not south

• Cooking while facing South can lead to disinterest in cooking, and health problems like high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, and joint pains

• The cooking stove should never be visible from outside the kitchen, especially never from the main door of the house. It burns away finances and savings

• A kitchen that opens to the center, as in Studio type houses, also creates vaastu defect

• A Kitchen should never have an island cooking range or an oven in the center of the kitchen as it disturbs the health of the people living in the house

• A Kitchen must have a door and it should remain closed when not cooking

• Taps and sinks should be kept in the North-East direction and not on the same platform as your stove or cooking range, as it creates conflict in-house

• Refrigerator must be placed in the South-Western direction and a little away from the corner. Refrigerator if placed in the kitchen, then it should not be kept in the North-Eastern direction.

• There should be one or two windows or air outlets in the east direction of the kitchen. Larger windows in the kitchen should be in the Eastern side while small ventilators should be placed towards South. An exhaust fan in the East is good

• Heaters, conventional ovens, micro-waves ovens should be placed in the south-east or south side of the kitchen; never in the north-east portion

• The storage for all the food grains, utensils, and overhead cabinets should always be on the Southern and the western walls and not on the Northern and the Eastern walls

• The water source including pitcher, water filter, etc. may be kept in north-east

• The kitchen must never be located below the bathroom or toilet. It should never share a common wall with the bathroom or toilet

• Pooja room should never be exactly above your kitchen or stove as it brings bad luck
• If there is a dining table in the kitchen, it should be placed in the North-West direction or on the Westside

• If the kitchen is in the North-East direction, mental stress increases and one may suffer great losses. If the kitchen is in the South-West direction, domestic harmony gets disrupted

• If the kitchen is in the North-West direction, expenditure of the household tends to increase

• If the kitchen is in the South-West direction, it causes heated arguments between the husband and the wife

• If a kitchen is in the West direction, it causes hardships in life

• If a kitchen is in the East direction, it makes the lady of the house dissatisfied even in luxury, there will be no peace in her heart

• A kitchen in the North of the house is the most dangerous to career and finances, as it is considered to be Kubera’s place. Therefore, may lead to unnecessary expenses

• The kitchen at night should be well cleaned and used utensils should be washed before sleeping or else it brings sickness to the house

• Light a lamp (Diya) before starting to cook and give sacred offerings to fire from the first thing you cook. It will ensure peace and prosperity in the house

• The door of the kitchen should never face the door of the toilet. It contaminates food vibrations and brings disease

• Never store medicines in the kitchen as it is said to bring negativity

• Any problem in this area can lead to health problems of Lungs

·         Good to keep this area light and open. So, suited well for a living room, student room, and bedroom for elderly or teenagers

·         In the office, it is best suited for the Accounts department, Junior Staff, Typists, Cash Counter, Sales and Finance Department and Assembly Hall
