Prof.Giridhar Shetty

Darshan of Ranchod of dakor

1)    The enchanting smile of Shree Ranchod dispels the misery of the devotees immediately.
2)    From the beautiful eyes rays of fathomless compassion emanate and instill lofty ideals in the minds of the devotee.
3)    The sandal paste applied decoratively on the forehead reminds one of righteous behaviour towards all living beings. Sandalwood though rubbed, burnt or pounded for medicinal or cosmetic purposes never looses its qualities and fills the atmosphere with fragrance.
4)    The golden crown on the head that it went thro’the process of heating, melting and beating. It goes thro’all these ordeals and emerges purer and brighter. The precious stone fixed each had to be cut, field and  carved to reach it bright shining state.
5)    The flute in one of the hands of Ranchod is raised to his life as it is most dear to the lord, just like his devotees.

The hollow instrument stores notting and gives out sweet notes when blown thr’o.
So a man must never store in his mind the acts of hostility done to him by others. He should also be completely free of egotism and allow the lord to speak and act thr’o him.

The garlands indicate to the devotee that they should fill the universe with the aroma of beneficient deeds. Individuals should unite ( like the different flowers coming together to form a garland) to render services to all creature

Shree Ranchod is very fond of sweets and butter. Indicating that the devotee should be soft hearted and sweet tounged.

The Tulsi leaves placed at the feet suggest that the devotee should be submissive to the Lord’s wish and have humility.

Based on the saint of Nareshwar by P.Y. Deota.
